Hello, I'm Eric Laitinen, a UX Designer based in Canada. Two areas heavily shaped me into who I am now from a young age: a deep desire to understand how things work and the ability to use that knowledge to create something. As I grew older, my interests shifted from disassembling mechanical devices and dissecting open-source code to designing mobile apps, websites, and video games.
In my early 20s, I pursued a college education and enrolled in a small local school called Edmonton Digital Arts College. College was a fantastic experience for me, from learning to networking and the friends I made. In 2019, I graduated with a diploma in Video Game Design. Video games are a medium that I deeply appreciate, as they allow me to interact with people across the globe whom I would never have met otherwise and experience storytelling that helps me grow as a person or hang out with friends and share some dumb fun.
My professional career began just after college when I started working for a tech startup called Story City as a junior UI/UX Designer. Despite my junior position, I was the designer and had much freedom in our work. At Story City, I helped create the entire platform, including the mobile app, web storefront, and backend creator tools.
With over three years of experience in the industry, I have created mobile apps, websites, and games. If you're interested in working with me, please email me, and I'd be happy to chat with you.
